Since then my tastes in anime have changed as I've aged, but there's always been plenty of anime titles for me to enjoy. I'm extremely pleased by the recent explosion in popularity that anime's seen, and unlike many fans I see the televising of edited series as a good thing. The increase exposure as well as the advent of DVDs has made licensing and releasing English language versions of anime a attractive option for many companies. I think it's only a matter of time before more and more anime movies see widespread theatrical distribution in the US, even without being connected to a hit TV show like Pokemon. And who knows, maybe as the kids who are becoming fans today grow up, some of them will revitalize the US animation industry, making it more than just a genre for kids.
